Thanks Gracie! I’ve no idea what kind of flowers these are, but they’re beautiful 🙂

You can thank the Gemeente of Oud-West, they are the ones who put these flowers in my street! 🙂

Lucky you , don’t think I’ll be posting what the Gemeente Utrecht puts in my street ! 😉

Haha! I’m lucky, my Gemeente puts a lot of effort in keeping the neighborhood pleasant, lots of flowers in the street and on the bridges.

You’ve got a very nice soft light to capture all the nuances of the purple.

I love the way the purple is defined: My purple flowers look like purple lumps. If I may ask what camera do you shot with? I am hoping to upgrade next year and my point and shots do not handle purples and reds very well.
October 19, 2012 at 3:00 AM
Thanks! I used a Canon 450D (you can see in the tags which camera I’ve used). It’s 5+ years so there are newer versions of this camera, I think the latest one in the series is 650D. I got mine because I wanted a “beginners DSLR” for a cheap(ish) price, and I’m still happy with it.

Thank you for responding. Some others have not and I am just trying to get a base line for my upgrade as money allows. Till then I will keep using the point and shots I have been blessed with.
