Still housebound. Here’s another shot from my backyard; a chubby little Chaffinch captured with PowerShot.

I hope that you are moving about more soon. Meanwhile, I’m loving the shots from your new camera, which has real reach. I wonder if I could justify to myself having one like that as my backup/travel camera?

I love the zoom on this camera! This small bird was about 40 meters away, I realize there’s a lot of noise in this picture but I cropped afterwards as well. Since I’m still housebound, I’m going to place myself on the balcony and wait for a new opportunity, hope to get a sharper image. I’m convinced you would love this camera as well, it’s perfect for backup and travel!

He’s a delightful one! I am really enjoying your bird photos. We have tons of birds because of our trees, and several of our elderly neighbors have bird feeders… One day, I may borrow my son’s camera and zoom in on them! The birds – that is. 🙂

I feel exactly the same way when I look at pictures from America and Asia Pacific regions 🙂 I often see species I didn’t even knew existed, it’s Great!

Lady, that power shot appears to take some pretty darm sharp pics. What brand and etc, is this one???
Beutiful bird. Do you have a bird feeder outside your window?
November 8, 2012 at 8:36 PM
They are taken with a Canon PowerShot XS50 HS. (You can see which camera I’ve used in the tags below.) I don’t have any bird feeder, there are still some small bugs around for the small birds to feed on. 🙂

I know, I’m very lucky to have this small “oasis” in the center of Amsterdam! The birds love it here, and I love watching them. 🙂

Amsterdam!!! What a beautiful city! We have been for visits a couple of times and have always felt welcomed! The history, the art galleries, the architectural splendor – you have it all!!!

Yes, I love Amsterdam! 😀 Been living here almost a decade now, don’t think I’ll ever leave. 😀 Be sure to let me know if you come for a visit again!

November 8, 2012 at 9:41 PM
They are super cute! Also very fast and never sit still, so difficult to catch on camera, that’s why the pictures are not so sharp. But I post them anyway 🙂 and hope I’ll get better shots later on!

Is true! But I’d much prefer walking around in the forest.. How’s your back? Mine’s better, I think (hope) I can go outside in the weekend. 🙂
November 8, 2012 at 10:39 PM
Have to agree, but need to replace my walking shoes , as long as I’m walking I’m fine, so still no macro 😦 hopefully the weather will improve a bit and we can both head out again 😀
November 8, 2012 at 10:48 PM
I don’t care if it rains, if I’m able to walk I’m going outside!! I’m so tired of staying at home. Ok, let’s hope we both can get out soon!! 😀

You have all these pretty birds in your backyard? Lucky you! All we get here are ravens and brown finches.
November 10, 2012 at 3:14 PM
Kevin! 😀 I was just thinking about you the other day, I miss your wonderful pictures and stories! Yes, all these birds live in my backyard, I’m really lucky to have this little “oasis” in the center of town.

Thanks! Good to know I (or at least my posts) am missed. Working on a new one now – the mists of Yellowstone. Hopefully done on Sunday.
Are you back on your feet yet? What happened?
November 10, 2012 at 6:00 PM
Yay! Yellowstone! 😀 Looking forward to it. Last week I bent down to tie my shoes and something in my lower back shifted and “locked” the muscles somehow. But I’m getting better, thanks!
