The Chaffinches (Fringilla coelebs) are cheerful visitors in my backyard. There are no feeders here but it doesn’t look like they’ve had any problems finding food anyway… plump and cute little birdies!
I’m still learning how to use the SX60.. Here are some bird pictures I’ve taken this week-
Since the text in the slideshow doesn’t show very well, I list the birds below as well:
1. European Robin (Erithacus rubecula), 2. Common Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs), 3. European Greenfinch (Chloris chloris), 4. Willow Warbler (Phylloscopus trochilus), 5. Common Firecrest (Regulus ignicapilla), 6. Eurasian Treecreeper (Certhia familiaris), 7. Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major)
I was so busy looking up for birds in trees, I almost missed Mr and Mrs Chaffinch sitting on the ground. Cute couple, eh!
Update: For those of you who want to see what good bird photography looks like, I highly recommend visits to fellow bloggers Pierre Cenerelli,
Still housebound. Here’s another shot from my backyard; a chubby little Chaffinch captured with PowerShot.
